The main office and Serials Media Department are on 3rd floor. The library also houses the Academic Success Center (tutoring), a computer lab, and the Café DeMon Coffee Shop on the first floor.

The Cammie G. Henry Research Center, on the 3rd floor houses the University archives, Special Collections, and the Louisiana Collection.

The Louisiana Division is a reference division which collects resources relating to the study of Louisiana and its citizens and to the city of New Orleans and New Orleanians. Other areas of concentration are the Mississippi River, the Gulf of Mexico, and the South.

Included within the Division's collections are books by or about Louisianians; city, regional, and state documents; manuscripts. The LSU Libraries supports the academic mission of the university by fostering teaching, learning, and research. Through its commitment to excellence in collections, services, and spaces, the Libraries serves as an indispensable intellectual resource for the state of Louisiana.

The materials in the general collection are located on the third and fourth floors of the Library. This collection is designed to serve the needs of state government and to supplement the holdings of the state’s public, school, institutional and special libraries in support of the informational and recreational needs of Louisiana residents.

The State Library of Louisiana Historical Photographs Collection features black and white and some color photographs from the early s to present. There are large collections of Department of Transportation, Tourism, Conservation, and Environmental Quality images.
